Wednesday is Green Tea, White Tea, Rooibos, Oolong and Tisane (Herbal) Review Day!
Scarlett O’Peara undoubtedly gets it’s name from the red shade of the tea from the rooibos, and the surprisingly pear-ish aroma of the steeped tea. A bit corny and fun I kind of wanted the tea just to say I had one with a dorky name. But this blend was so much more.
Much like a new political regime or great social experiment, some teas present a great promise. An enduring palette pleasure which is not too radical, but still a little edgy. Guess what I found!?!

This tea contains no pears, but it does have raspberries, chamomile, heather and sunflower. I’m not sure how they thought this one up, but it’s supurb! Light, aromatic and subtle with new plays on the palette each time you drink it.
Upon first taste the raspberry is the first thing I taste. But then, I was looking for it. There’s something special about raspberries and their sweet and tart flavor dichotomy I can never seem to get tired of. The chamomile will wome out the more you drink, but remains an undertone. I’m not sure I can catch the heather or the sunflower, but they may just be that ‘special something’ to the texture of this blend!
Lightly aromatic, Miss O’Peara will ask to kiss you again and again. I personally found it very difficult to resist her charm. I can’t sense thesunflower here but the sweetness of the rooibos and the raspberries as well as the sensual texture of the smell of chamomile both came through.
She’s not too bold. Just enough to keep it interesting really. It’s perfect for this blend. There’s no bite or tail to speak of, which is a trademark of a rooibos. Nonetheless the aftertaste remains for a long time and the only way to get it to lessen is to drink more. And oh, how I did drink more.
I would easily recommend Scarlett O’Peara for anyone who doesn’t have an issue with rooibos. If you don’t like rooibos, you won’t like this blend. For everyone else, this blend is well balanced and fun. It certainly brought a smile to my face when I was tasting it for this review.
Now if you don’t mind… I have some more to drink.
