I don't put mine in the dishwasher, so i haven't experienced the discolouration issue (i think i read somewhere that handwashing was preferable) but they do keep your tea drinkably warm for a good long time, and they're so much nicer looking than some of the others i've seen on the market. I'm looking forward to a one-handed operation version but i do see the challenges of that with loose-leaf tea...
