I must be on an Earl kick or something. After a couple recent Earl Grey teas I fancied this Jade Earl Green from Townshend's Tea in Portland. This green tea with oil of bergamot makes a wonderful brew.
As one of the most established loose leaf American tea companies, Harney & Sons has produced some spectacular blends over the years. I'll spend some time highlighting a few of my favorites coming up, but we'll start with this Cranberry Autumn black tea, a very popular member of their infusions.
Frank has once again created an interesting twist on something old. I have had a great many forms of Earl Grey. From one blended with white teas, to one using premium leaf grades, to one using more or less oil of begamot. This Knave Grey blend from 52teas blends with coconut for a unique take on this classic.
I've been a fan of Japanese culture for a long time. Tokyo in particular offers a unique view into the micro-cosmic reality of this interesting people. This Tokyo blend from Harney & Sons whet my palate right away because it reminds me of some of my favorite Japanese foods.
A few years back I worked at an Asian grocery in the area. This gave me a chance to try all kinds of foods and teas I'd never had before. One of the first was this Roasted Milk Tea from 3:15 PM a Taiwanese brand.
