Flowery iced teas aren’t something I’ve really considered.
Honest Tea has become well known since the new President of the United States of America admitted to enjoying their Black Forest Berry bottled beverage.

This Jasmine Green Energy Tea is a nice cloudy amber-gold. Calorie efficient at just 34 calories per bottle. Add that it’s USDA organic and fair trade certified and that Honest Tea uses a carbot offset process and this tea is a great Earth friendly beverage choice!

It’s aroma has light Jasmine overtones with notes of a sweet Chinese green such as a Pi Lo Chun. It’s not too bold for a Jasmine.

The aroma sets you up just right for the flavorful infusion which provides notes of Jasmine with a lightening sugary sweetness and hints of honey.

I recommend this tea to fans of Jasmine teas, floral teas or light green teas.

It’s interesting how you can clearly see the particles of peach in the cloudy and rustic orange tea through the bottle. It’s ultimately reassuring of the purity of this certified organic beverage.

After opening the bottle and sniffing deeply the aromas of this tea… my primary impression is of peaches with clear notes of sugar having been added for additional sweetness. This is not usually my preference as I like to be able to taste more of the tea, and less of the additives.

The flavor of this tea is not particularly bold. Clearly sweetened, the peach overtones and citrus notes don’t come in until after the sugar has softened the blow. I really would prefer a tea with less sugar, but this blend remained remarkably refreshing whether at my cubicle at work or in a hammock in the shade on a hot Summer day.

I recommend this ready to drink bottled tea to those who like sweet teas, peach tea, fruit teas, flavored tea, iced teas and just a darned refreshing beverage!

Over the past couple months I have really grown to enjoy iced tea. From black tea bases to greens and herbals… most any well blended tea can be brewed for consumption hot or iced. This ready to drink herbal/tisane bottled beverage from Honest Tea comes just short of proving this rule to be true.

From the outset you can tell this blend will be fruity. I’m only speaking visually here… no label counted in. The deep berry red, almost that of a dark sour cherry, screams of fruity deliciousness.

Like most of Honest Teas‘ beverages this Black Forest Berry is made from certified organic and fair trade hibiscus leaves as well as organic fruits, fruit flavors and powders. Remember also that Honest Tea offsets their carbon usage, as a good citizen of the organic community would.

The aroma from this bottle of berry goodness smells very sweet. While I caught clear hibiscus scents… I also found light notes of raspberry to be present. All this added up to a wonderful aroma reminding heavily of pomegranate.

A bit of a mismatch with the aroma, the flavors were quite subdued. I found this beverage to be a bit watered down (diluted) and without much of a tail. Just a twinge of sour and strawberry hint a the real promise this drink shows.

I expected something slightly bolder and with more berry flavor. I feel duped by the aroma this specific beverage gave me being so different than the taste. While this is sometimes nice to have in a more traditional hot tea… in an iced tea I find it a disappointment. That isn’t to say I didn’t enjoy this tea. But I do feel its shortcomings to be remedial.

I would recommend this Black Forest Berry from Honest Tea to anyone who enjoys herbal teas (tisanes), fruit juices, iced teas, flavored teas, caffeine-free beverages and fruit in general.

I’ve been very very excited about trying different iced teas for these reviews. Peach teas are pretty popular and typical here ni the States and I’d be remiss if I didn’t offer something up. This time though, it’s got an Oolong base.

When I think of iced teas, as most americans may, I think of Souther sweet teas. Perhaps with some Georgia peach thrown in for good measure. This wonderfully balanced iced Oolong from Honest Tea is a good example.

The Peach Oo-La-Long from Honest Tea comes bottled. The liquid murky, the color of dark amber needs to be shaken before consumed to get the “good stuff” off the bottom and mixed in with the liquid.

Honest Tea does well on the colorie count. Much better than I’d anticipated from a larger sized and growing company. This particular tea is USDA Certified Organic, Fair Trade Certified, Carbon Offset and contains no Genetically Modified Organic materials (GMOs).

Pop open the bottle and you’ll find just what you’d expect. The fragrance of ripe peaches with the lightest of hints of Oolong and honey.

Upon tasting, this tea isn’t as bold as I’d anticipated. Right around the middle of the scale really. With an ever so slightly bitter finish the Peach Oo-La-Long isn’t as sweet as the aroma but has a tail which sticks around a bit, almost pleading for you to drink more.

I would recommend this this iced brew for lovers of peaches, peach teas, sweet/sun teas and tasty beverages.
