I’m enjoying a nice light Organic African Nectar in my cup this Morning from Mighty Leaf Tea, who happen to have 20% off selected tea gifts today!

This rooibos smells and tastes of invigorating citrus. The texture on the tongue is smoother than anticipated. A pleasant surprise actually. It makes this tea easy to drink all day!

Talbott Teas is pretty well known now for their involvement with Oprah Winfrey’s television variety show and her magazine “O.” They’re also involved with Donald Trump’s tea line which continues to gain popularity. Still their relative public notoriety hasn’t translated into wider industry acknowledgement. Unfortunately.

The loose material for this tea is made of plenty of red South African rooibos, blended with lemongrass and calendula petals. It makes for a rather pretty sight. The liquor turns a nice robust rustic red-brown once brewed.

The dry leaf aroma is subtle and sweet with hints of fresh apple, sweet rooibos and only the slightest hint at a lemony tartness. Once brewed the scents combine to remind me of a light apple cider, only less spicy. There’s a top note of sweetness with notable undertones of nectarine and citrus.

On the palate this Luscious Lemon Meringue offers only slightly more play. The sweetness comes with a bit of fresh citrus notes throughout. The flavor is coated with a touch of spice and hints of honey and apricot.

Luscious Lemon Meringue Rooibos Tea from Talbott Teas

This is not a strong tea. Those looking for a pick-me-up will not find it here. Without caffeine this blend is great for those who need to avoid it, but not ideal as a breakfast beverage. For a sweet touch with an afternoon snack or as a light all-day drink this tea fits well.

Fans of rooibos, lemongrass teas and dessert teas may enjoy this blend.

The loose material which makes up this tea is primarily of green rooibos. When you peek closer though you’ll note lots of thin red slivers of strawberry. Very tins, but abundant. The aroma is quite heavily of strawberry.

The concoction brews a nice amber liquor with a strong but sweet strawberry aroma. The aroma is actually more pungent once brewed than prior to it.

The flavor is predominently strawberry, but not as sweet as the brewed aroma hints at. Adding some honey or sweetener is a good option to look to if you desire a sweeter brew.

There’s not much tail or finish on this tea. There’s virtually no astringency and there’s no drying of the mouth. So while the aroma is as apetizing as can be, the flavor and texture seem to be lacking a bit.

I recommend this tea for fans of strawberry flavored stuff as well as those who enjoy fruit teas and tasty caffeine free treats. You might want to add some sweetener of some kind, be it honey, agave nectar or sugar/substitute.

This spice based chai is a rather delicious one. Although it’s spice based, the flavor is surprisingly smooth on the palate.

The loose tea is very nice to look at. With its red peppercorns, broad leaves, red rooibos and other ingredients and’s a collection of visuals to keep your eyes budy. The aroma hints at cinnamon but has plenty of the cardamom and peppercorns to provide a feisty play in the nose.

The liquor brews up a beautiful orange gold and smooths the aroma providing a savory sweet collection of flavor suggestions including coconut, ginger and peppercorn.

I like this tea best with milk. I’ve always traditionally made chai with milk as that’s how I was taught by Indian friends of mine. This tea is ‘ok’ without milk. But it really comes alive with milk added.

I recommend this chai to fans of other chai blends, especially Pumpkin Spice chai blends. Fans of cinnamon teas will also find this a palate pleaser.

This mildly spicy, but smooth tasting brew sits easy on the palate and the aroma pleases the senses.

The leaves are clearly a mound of red rooibos. Large coconut chips, ginger bits, apple chunks, black peppercorns and almonds create a menagerie of fun colorful activity. The dry aroma carries the peppercorn, cinnamon and cardamom rather nicely.

Once brewed the liquor shows nice brilliant red and gives a sweeter aroma with notes of spiciness and hints at a milky texture.

The flavor comes out slightly nutty with heavy notes of spiciness and a touch of coconut sweetness. Sadly this flavor doesn’t seem to hang around for very long, although I should note the cinnamon does.

I would recommend this tea if you enjoy chai.
